This 38-year-old woman presented to my office seeking improvement in the appearance of her abdomen after having children. Following three pregnancies, she developed diastasis recti, a separation of the rectus abdominis ("six-pack") muscles, as well as excess abdominal skin and soft tissue. Despite maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise routine, she was unable to achieve her desired pre-pregnancy abdominal contour. I performed an abdominoplasty to remove the excess skin and tissue while repairing the separated abdominal muscles. This restored the integrity of her abdominal wall and created a smoother, more contoured abdominal appearance.
