Advancing the field of plastic surgery has been a consistent thread throughout Dr. Addona's career, long before it became a formal part of his professional record.
Research Foundations
Dr. Addona's research background dates back to his medical training, where he was recognized with Honors in Plastic Surgery Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and awarded a National Cancer Institute Research Fellowship.
During this period, he conducted research on the effects of cryosurgery and radiofrequency ablation on metastatic colon carcinoma, alongside earlier work studying the effects of diabetes on flap survival in reconstructive microsurgery. This early research foundation continues to inform the evidence-based approach Dr. Addona applies throughout his surgical career today.
