This 27-year-old woman presented to my office to discuss breast reduction surgery. She reported significant neck and back pain associated with the size and weight of her breasts. A breast reduction was also recommended by her neurologist, physical therapist, and OB/GYN as a potential treatment to help alleviate her symptoms. Prior to surgery, she wore a 34DDD bra, weighed 170 pounds, and stood 5'3". She underwent a breast reduction with liposuction of the axillary areas to reduce excess fullness along the bra line and improve the discomfort associated with large, heavy breasts.
